The Right Storage Conditions for Atomni-40
The label instruction is clear: Atomni-40 Atorvastatin Tablets IP should be stored protected from moisture at a temperature not exceeding 30°C.
In much of India that is easier said than done during May and June, when indoor temperatures in an unventilated room can climb well past that mark. Choose an interior cupboard or a drawer in the coolest room of the house, ideally one with an outer wall that is shaded. A steel almirah shelf away from a west-facing window works well in most homes.
Do not refrigerate the tablets unless a pharmacist specifically tells you to. Taking a strip in and out of a fridge causes condensation on the foil, and moisture is the enemy of a film-coated tablet.
Monsoon Humidity and Where Not to Keep Tablets

Blister and Pack Care
Atomni-40 comes as 10 X 10 tablets. The blister foil is a moisture barrier, so leave each tablet sealed until you are ready to swallow it. Popping out a week's supply into a loose pill box exposes them to air and humidity for days.
If you use a weekly pill organiser for convenience, keep it in a dry place and refill it only a few days at a time during the rainy months.
Keep the outer carton, because it carries the batch number, manufacturing and expiry details and the Schedule H warning. Do not cut a strip in a way that removes the printed batch and expiry information from the piece you keep.
If a tablet looks chipped, discoloured, sticky or unusual, or if the foil is punctured, do not take it. Show it to your chemist.

Keeping Medicines Away From Children and Safe Disposal

When a strip expires or a doctor stops the medicine, do not flush tablets down the toilet or throw loose tablets into an open bin.
