Swallow it whole with a glass of plain water, sitting or standing rather than lying down. Do not crush it, chew it or dissolve it in water unless your doctor or pharmacist has specifically told you to, because breaking the coating changes how the tablet behaves and can leave a bitter taste. If swallowing tablets is difficult, say so at the clinic instead of improvising. There are practical ways to help, and your doctor can advise what suits you.
