Storing Rosomni-Gold 75/75/20 in Indian Heat and Monsoon

The pack instruction is specific: store in a cool, dry and dark place at a temperature not exceeding 25 degrees Celsius, protect from light and moisture, and keep out of reach of children.

In most Indian homes that means an interior cupboard or almirah shelf in a bedroom, away from windows and away from any wall that catches afternoon sun. A closed drawer works well. What you are avoiding is the combination of heat, daylight and damp air, because all three can affect a capsule shell and the coated pellets inside it.

Three places to avoid completely:

Unless a pharmacist tells you otherwise, this capsule does not go in the refrigerator. Cold storage brings its own condensation problem each time the pack comes out.

The blister strip is a moisture barrier, and it is doing real work through the rainy months in Karnataka and along the coast.

Keep capsules sealed in the foil until the moment you take them. Do not pop out a week's worth on Sunday and leave them loose in a pill box, however convenient that feels. If you do use a weekly organiser, fill it a day at a time, keep it closed, and store it in the same cool dry cupboard.

Other simple monsoon habits:

When you collect a refill, check that the seal is intact, that the foil has no punctures, and that the printing is clear. Ask for a proper bill showing the batch number. When a pack expires or a prescription changes, do not flush capsules down the toilet and do not throw a full strip into an open bin where children, ragpickers or stray animals can reach it. The safer household approach is to remove the capsules from the foil, mix them with something unusable such as used tea leaves or soil, seal that in a bag and put it in the household waste. Tear or scratch out any personal details on the carton before discarding it.

Better still, ask your chemist or hospital pharmacy whether they accept unused medicines for disposal, since many do.
