Who should be cautious before taking Atomni-10?
Atorvastatin is unsuitable in some situations and needs extra care in others.
- Pregnancy: Statins are not used in pregnancy because cholesterol is essential for the developing baby. Women who could become pregnant should discuss contraception, and anyone who conceives while taking Atomni-10 should contact their doctor promptly.
- Breastfeeding: Atorvastatin is avoided, as it may pass into breast milk.
- Liver disease: Active liver disease or unexplained, persistently raised liver enzymes rule statins out. A history of liver problems or heavy drinking calls for closer monitoring.
